This role involves building scalable and secure solutions that support Apple's legal, security, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate will work with a talented team of engineers and product managers, taking ownership of project delivery from inception to deployment. The position requires collaboration across teams and mentoring of engineers while driving innovation aligned with the product roadmap.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience in Java with strong object-oriented design skills.
  • Eligibility for and willingness to apply for a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Experience in both frontend and backend development, including building and maintaining large-scale, scalable systems.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases and proficiency with Unix operating systems.
  • Solid knowledge of application performance optimization techniques and caching solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture principles including load-balancing, microservices, and security.
  • Hands-on experience building components, frameworks, and libraries that improve software efficiency.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms and frameworks and experience integrating AI/ML concepts into software design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), cloud data warehousing (Snowflake), and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain critical tools and services for legal, compliance, and security requirements.
  • Own the full software engineering lifecycle for all solutions from development to production support.
  • Collaborate across teams to implement features aligned with the product roadmap.
  • Mentor engineers and drive innovation within the team.
  • Take ownership of project delivery from architecture and system design to implementation and maintenance.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
