Job description

The Developer Engagement team is seeking a skilled engineer to enhance internal systems and tooling that support Apple's software engineering workflow. This role focuses on delivering exceptional developer experiences and driving the adoption of new capabilities. The engineer will engage closely with internal teams to gather feedback and refine tools that meet developer needs. This position balances hands-on engineering work with collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Excellent customer collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficient in modern scripting or compiled languages such as Python, Swift, or C/C++
  • Familiar with continuous integration, software testing, and build methodologies
  • Experience designing and using web service APIs
  • Automation development experience in high-scale operating environments
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools and workflows
  • On-call availability when needed
  • Experience incorporating AI/ML capabilities into developer-facing tools
  • Ability to refine user requirements and prototype new solutions
  • Experience driving adoption of developer tools across engineering organizations
  • macOS, iOS, or UNIX development experience
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the future of internal systems and tooling for developer adoption efforts
  • Support a large-scale functional build and test system
  • Engage with internal developer teams to drive adoption of new capabilities

  • Ensure a tight and actionable feedback loop between users and engineering teams
  • Balance hands-on engineering work with deep engagement with internal teams
