The Senior Process Engineering role at Rivian is essential for meeting production milestones effectively. This position involves improving current processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve high-level problems. The role is based at the Normal, IL facility and reports to the Process Engineering Manager of Stamping Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stamping processes and a passion for continuous improvement.

• 5+ years of experience in a stamping environment
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent work experience
• Strong process skills and comprehension of various manufacturing processes including RSW, GMAW, laser welding, SPR, mastic, and adhesives
• Exceptional organization and data management skills
• High level proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with GD&T and APQP
• 2D and 3D modeling experience
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams
• Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
• Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds

• Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering group in equipment design, buyoff, and installation for all new model launch activities
• Assist the manufacturing engineering group with cell layout, rack design, and PFMEA development
• Coach safety, quality, and production on standardized work development
• Lead continuous improvement activities and drive problem resolution with cross-functional groups including production, quality, engineering, and maintenance
• Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize productivity while reducing quality, productivity, and maintenance issues
• Assist the manufacturing engineering group in successful runoff of equipment and ensure product and process meet all plant KPIs for mass production
• Work hand in hand with operations to mitigate production downtime and increase process efficiencies
• Lead projects, define project scopes, and manage capital budgets
• Work with production to outline allocation of resources throughout the body shop
