Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Geologist or Scientist to join the Resilience Environment team in Paramus, New Jersey. The role focuses on improving quality of life through environmental science and geology expertise. The team works on projects related to soil, water, and air quality, as well as monitoring and remediation efforts. This position offers opportunities for fieldwork and collaboration on complex environmental projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
- Experience supervising environmental drilling is preferred.
- Prior knowledge of NJDP rules and regulations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
- Conduct fieldwork including the collection and documentation of soil, air/vapor, groundwater, and surface water samples.
- Oversee subcontractors during drilling operations and the installation of groundwater wells.
- Perform remedial system operation and maintenance checks and repairs.
- Conduct facility inspections and soil gas surveys.
- Provide emergency response support for train derailments and HAZMAT spills.
- Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda.
- Coordinate analytical laboratory sampling and data processing.
- Assist project managers with preparing subcontracts and overseeing their work.
