This role is part of the global controls team focused on the data center industry. The position involves troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS). The candidate will work with a team of experts to develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space. The role requires interaction with various mechanical and electrical components within data centers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant controls experience, or 10+ years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of general project or vendor management experience associated with construction and project execution.
- Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems.
- Experience using common industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, BACnet, and/or MODBUS.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the life cycle of the data center.
- Review results and action items from quarterly maintenances for BMS and EPMS and take actions to resolve them.
- Develop BMS and EPMS project scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and levels of effort.
- Manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects.
- Assist in procurement activities including requests for quotations and proposals.
- Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate technical support.
- Attend project-related meetings and coordinate with project leaders.
- Support commissioning activities related to controls projects in data centers.
- Review, implement, troubleshoot, and iterate on the controls sequence of operation.
- Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
- Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
- Frequently visit assigned in-operation data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work.
