Job description

The Power Generation Engineer will be part of AWS's Amazon Commissioning team, focusing on the commissioning and innovation of Medium and High Voltage infrastructure for data centers. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the highest standards of safety and security. Candidates should be prepared for travel and will work from one of the regional hubs. The position requires oversight of multi-discipline projects and compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of HV/MV Substation electrical systems.
  • High technical competency in electrical systems and understanding of design concepts.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate multi-discipline work related to pre-commissioning and commissioning of critical infrastructure.
  • Manage and support external suppliers and provide input into scheduling and planning.
  • Review multi-discipline commissioning documents for compliance with project specifications.
  • Audit commissioning activities to ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
  • Walk job sites in uneven terrain and work at heights.
