The Software Development Engineer role in the Code Services team at Amazon focuses on building and scaling the platforms that manage all source control, including GitFarm, GitHub, and GitLab. Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate source control infrastructure serving millions of repositories and billions of monthly code operations.
- Deliver scalable, highly available services that support GitFarm, GitHub Enterprise, and GitLab.
- Build APIs and platform capabilities that enable AI agents to interact with source control safely and at scale.
- Drive operational excellence by owning on-call duties and reducing operational toil through automation.
- Collaborate with engineers across ASBX to deliver a unified, secure developer experience.
- Solve complex distributed systems problems related to monorepo scaling and high-throughput git operations.
- Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers.
