Job description

As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality technical support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software. You will work within a defined geographical area, ensuring that IT infrastructure remains operational and efficient. The position requires self-motivation and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. You will also interact with management and staff to enhance IT solutions and support multiple customers across various locations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience in IT support or related fields
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT-related fields such as networking or systems administration
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 2+ years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
  • 1+ years of experience in IT client, server, and network service delivery
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of networking experience including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or other relevant certifications
  • Experience in data center design or operations
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks

Responsibilities

  • Perform network engineering and troubleshooting across various software and hardware environments.
  • Ensure infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
  • Provide analytical and technical assistance for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
  • Manage local technical projects and maintain or create policies and procedures.
  • Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
  • Support customers from multiple buildings and remote locations.
  • Travel within the local or regional area to provide customer support.
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand or walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
