Job description

The Senior Perception Engineer will be part of NVIDIA's perception team, focusing on developing and productizing autonomous driving solutions. This role involves creating end-to-end solutions for perception modules that facilitate online mapping and road detection. The engineer will work on improving the robustness, accuracy, and efficiency of these solutions to support autonomous driving in various environments. Collaboration with data teams and leveraging deep learning models will be key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership demonstrating high technical and organizational complexity.
  • Hands-on work experience in developing deep learning and algorithms to solve sophisticated real-world problems.
  • Proficiency in using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end solutions for perception and autonomous vehicle stack to enable road network detections.
  • Conduct applied research and development of innovative deep learning models for various detection tasks.
  • Develop generalizable approaches to support diverse operational design domains and regional expansion.
  • Drive data-driven development by collaborating with data collection and labeling teams to enhance perception system accuracy.
  • Leverage data simulation and augmentation to address extreme scenarios.
  • Productize developed perception solutions by meeting safety, latency, and software robustness requirements.
