Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior LPU ASIC Engineer to contribute to innovative chip design within a collaborative and diverse team. This role focuses on full-flow ownership of physical design processes, including synthesis and timing constraints. The engineer will work closely with various teams to optimize power, performance, and area while ensuring successful tapeout execution. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of AI technology.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience, with M.S./Ph.D. preferred.
- 5+ years of industry experience in full-flow physical design for large-scale, high-performance SoCs.
- Proven track record of driving designs through the complete RTL-to-GDSII flow.
- Deep understanding of low-power design intent and formal equivalency checks.
- Expert-level proficiency in advanced clock tree synthesis and sign-off timing analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to implement power, performance, and area optimization techniques.
- Strong command of power grid design and EMIR analysis.
- Skilled in optimizing DFT structures within block-level physical design.
- Expert-level command of industry-standard tool suites for physical design flows.
- Proficient in scripting to automate flows and integrate AI-driven optimizations.
- Specialized experience in the physical design of high-speed SerDes IPs is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of synthesis, floorplanning, place & route, timing constraints, UPF, and LEC.
- Collaborate with IP, Front-End logic design, and Architecture teams for cross-functional optimization.
- Lead design closure in collaboration with IP, PnR, and Sign-off teams for successful tapeout.
- Architect data-driven EDA flows and methodologies to improve PPA and design cycle efficiency.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
