·FY 2025Job description
NVIDIA is seeking an R&D Software Engineer to develop advanced VLSI Physical Design Algorithms. The role involves creating optimization engines that enhance chip frequency while reducing power consumption. The team focuses on innovative software solutions without the constraints of legacy systems, allowing for high intellectual freedom. Candidates will work closely with design teams to implement and deploy new algorithms and tools.
Requirements
- Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with VLSI algorithms development using C++.
- Understanding of VLSI timing optimization and related concepts.
- Familiarity with design implementation tools such as ICC2, Innovus, PrimeTime, Tempus, and StarRC.
- Proficiency in typical design flows written in Perl, Tcl, and Python.
Responsibilities
- Invent new optimization engines that combine traditionally independent engines.
- Improve algorithms for gate-level sizing, buffering, and power minimization.
- Own the entire process from discovery to deployment of optimization solutions.
- Work directly with design teams to facilitate the implementation of new tools.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
