This role involves owning the systems that index and serve Prime Video's catalog content, focusing on AI-driven content discovery and search infrastructure. The MediaCoreExpert (MCX) team aims to enhance customer experience by leveraging large language models and semantic search. Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of experience in designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own services that index and serve Prime Video catalog content
- Build and evolve AI agents that combine LLM reasoning and semantic search
- Develop search infrastructure that blends keyword and semantic signals with LLM re-ranking
- Own the full lifecycle of services from architecture to operational excellence
- Design and operate low-latency serving infrastructure for search results
- Integrate with large language models and agentic frameworks for AI systems
- Solve complex problems across distributed systems and AI agents
- Improve engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks
- Mentor engineers on system design and AI/ML best practices
- Collaborate with scientists and product managers to translate business problems into technical solutions
