As a Device Software Development Engineer on the Amazon Leo Government team, you will design and develop embedded software for satellite and ground systems. This role focuses on creating fault-tolerant, real-time platforms that support critical government initiatives. You will work closely with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver secure and high-performance solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of space-based communication systems with minimal legacy constraints.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Hands-on experience with Xilinx platforms and custom silicon development
- In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel internals
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for Amazon Leo's satellite and ground terminal systems.
- Leverage modern application frameworks for Embedded Linux and RTOS platforms to develop scalable software.
- Implement and integrate software for data processing, device control, and networking protocols.
- Debug and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues using tools like logic analyzers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software interaction.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to uphold high software quality standards.
