Job description

The Amazon DynamoDB team is seeking software engineers with a team-first mentality to enhance one of the largest NoSQL database services. This role involves working on complex engineering problems in distributed systems at a massive scale. Engineers will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of features in the storage engine, ensuring high performance and durability. Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Own everything from requirements gathering to design reviews and implementations
  • Implement changes in Java/Rust to optimize replication and reduce latency
  • Validate changes through capacity tests across various instance types
  • Diagnose production issues in real-time across 30+ regions during on-call rotations
  • Review teammates' code and contribute to designs spanning millions of nodes
