This role is for a Software Development Engineer on the In-Memory datastore team at AWS, focusing on building a high-performance in-memory distributed data storage platform. The team is responsible for developing systems that support real-time applications and push the boundaries of NoSQL capabilities. Engineers will engage in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, primarily using Java and C/C++. • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

• Design and build the next-generation in-memory NoSQL database platform.
• Lead software development of large-scale distributed in-memory storage systems.
• Develop and operate HTTP/REST services and event-driven architectures.
• Build and improve real-time failure detection and auto-remediation systems.
• Drive horizontal and vertical scaling capabilities and fault tolerance mechanisms.
• Contribute to disaster recovery and prevention strategies.
• Mentor and grow junior engineers on the team.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
