Job description

The Business Data Scientist in Marketing at Google will focus on driving key measurement and analytics programs that impact Google Marketing across media campaigns. This role involves deep data analysis, providing insights, and developing recommendations to enhance marketing strategies. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions and measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytics and a passion for applying data science to marketing challenges.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases, and performing statistical analysis.
  • Experience in causal inference, A/B testing, statistical modeling, or machine learning.
  • Experience in campaign brand or conversion lift measurement and using analytical insights to guide media planning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in media strategy, measurement, and optimization that requires expertise in advanced analytics work.
  • Drive advanced analytics work including experimentation, measurement, and modeling.
  • Identify patterns and behaviors that are effective predictors of performance and critical drivers for a successful media plan.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks for large-scale models, new metrics, and investigate anomalies.
