Job description
The Senior Staff Software Engineer in Enterprise Architecture and Optimization at Google will play a pivotal role in defining and driving enterprise-wide architectural standards. This position is part of the Enterprise Product Strategy and Architecture team, focusing on ensuring the corporate infrastructure aligns with business strategy while remaining innovative and efficient. The engineer will work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders to address complex technical challenges and enhance system interactions. This role requires a visionary approach to architecture and a commitment to improving operational effectiveness across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 8 years of experience leading global, matrixed technical teams or cross-functional architectural initiatives.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with EPA peers and the broader Architecture community to design, develop, and implement enterprise-wide architectural standards.
- Partner with the Office of the CIO and Pillar Technical Leads to facilitate governance and accelerate high-velocity technical approvals.
- Analyze transactional workflows and event logs to expose systemic friction and operational gaps.
- Lead structured efforts to mitigate technical debt and address security threats before they impact delivery.
- Partner closely with Pillar Leads to define and execute comprehensive asset rationalization strategies.
