Job description

The Staff Software Engineer for Enterprise Product Strategy and Architecture at Google will focus on defining and scaling enterprise-wide architectural standards and reference models. This role is critical in driving innovative, secure, and data-driven capabilities across Corporate Engineering. The engineer will work on large-scale data architecture frameworks and AI/ML capabilities, ensuring alignment with long-term data scalability goals. The position requires versatility and leadership qualities to tackle new challenges across the full-stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale data architecture frameworks, enterprise data warehouses/data lakes, or production-grade AI/ML pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade reference architectures and technical roadmaps for data platforms and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Conduct deep-dive technical design consultations and architecture reviews to ensure alignment with data scalability and AI safety goals.
  • Support the Enterprise Architecture Board by reviewing high-impact data and AI proposals and identifying architectural fragmentation.
  • Lead technical forums and workshops to enhance the data engineering and AI competencies of technical leads across Corporate Engineering.
  • Establish reusable architectural patterns and principles for data ingestion, pipeline orchestration, model deployment, and generative AI integrations.
