The Mechanical Engineer role focuses on air-cooled infrastructure, products, and equipment within Google's Data Center Engineering team. This team is responsible for the physical design of data centers, ensuring they are efficient and environmentally friendly. The engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical systems and collaborate with various teams to implement innovative solutions. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to drive improvements and maintain high standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
- Experience in mechanical infrastructure.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant field or a Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Revit.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead for air-cooled cooling product designs.
- Collaborate with Operations, Execution, and Construction teams to develop new data center mechanical infrastructure products.
- Investigate and lead next-generation mechanical system products to align with company long-term strategies.
- Create system-level concepts and schematic designs, carrying them through to detailed, constructable, and modular designs.
