Job description

The Data Strategy Program Manager role at Apple is a high-impact position within the Finance Transformation PMO team. This individual will act as a bridge between Finance stakeholders and Engineering, focusing on data strategy, analytics, and program management. The role involves driving data quality, consistency, and governance best practices across Finance. The manager will report directly to the Head of the Finance Transformation PMO and will be responsible for ensuring that engineering work aligns with the vision for data governance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical/program management, data strategy, or analytics, ideally in a Finance or enterprise transformation context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical/program management, data strategy, or analytics, ideally in a Finance or enterprise transformation context.
  • Strong understanding of data concepts such as data modeling, data governance, and analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills, able to synthesize ambiguity into clarity for both executive and working-level audiences.
  • High degree of organizational rigor, skilled at tracking multiple workstreams and managing competing priorities.
  • Background in Finance operations, FP&A, or Finance systems.
  • Familiarity with data infrastructure concepts including data warehouses and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with tools in the Finance data ecosystem, including Snowflake or SAP.
  • Experience with program tracking tools and/or reporting/BI tools.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a critical bridge between Finance stakeholders and Engineering.
  • Shape how Finance defines and governs its data.
  • Ensure that engineering work required to realize the data vision is delivered on time.
  • Drive data quality, consistency, and governance best practices across Finance.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional programs and support the Engineering team during scrum ceremonies.
  • Report status and health on work products and manage risk on projects.
