The Staff Software Engineer role focuses on AI-Empowered Security within the Cloud CISO team at Google. This team is dedicated to building secure systems that protect Google Cloud and its customers by leveraging the latest AI advancements. The engineer will be responsible for architecting and scaling secure platforms while also leading the identification of AI opportunities. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in software development and security engineering to ensure robust security measures are integrated into the development workflow.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as Go, C, C++, Python, or Java.
• 5 years of experience designing, building, and testing large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure services.
• 3 years of experience in security engineering, focusing on infrastructure security and secure software development lifecycle.
• 1 year of experience with AI/ML infrastructure including model deployment and evaluation.

• Architect and scale robust, secure platforms that automate security checks across Google Cloud’s developer pipeline and production systems.
• Design, optimize, and evaluate AI-driven security capabilities while leading the identification of AI opportunities.
• Establish engineering and security standards for large-scale distributed systems to ensure robust end-to-end security.
• Analyze and distill complex technical and security data to drive key organizational decisions and roadmap prioritization.
• Provide technical leadership for multiple teams and mentor senior engineers to help them grow into technical leaders.
