Job description

The Global Datacenter Engineering Lease Electrical Director will oversee the coordination of electrical and EPMS infrastructure requirements for leased datacenter capacity at Microsoft. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment with global datacenter standards. The director will also facilitate the development of lease standards and provide direction to electrical SMEs. A strong focus on problem-solving and technical expertise in electrical engineering is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering AND 3+ years of Datacenter Electrical/EPMS infrastructure experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering AND 6+ years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering AND 8+ years of experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Registered/Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PE or equivalent) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert in root cause analysis to help engineering teams identify complex problems.
  • Advise on key details to review when evaluating leased facilities and provide technical input on contracts.
  • Coordinate engineering system design decisions with stakeholders to account for technology decisions.
  • Provide recommendations for complex decisions across the leased portfolio based on various factors.
  • Act as an expert resource on industry trends and advances in electrical engineering.
  • Document complex details about electrical scope within the leased portfolio.
  • Determine required tools, technologies, or processes to successfully deliver project requirements.
