Job description

The NPI Program Manager role focuses on enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of program management teams through data systems, automation, and applied AI. This position is part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team based in Redmond, where the manager will lead the design and deployment of tools and AI solutions. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and the development of reusable platforms to support multiple hardware programs. It is not a traditional execution role but rather aims to improve the overall PM function's leverage and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with 2+ years of experience in relevant areas.
  • Equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related area may be considered.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Proven track record of shipping internal tools, automations, or AI agents that drove measurable productivity gains.
  • Fluency with structured data and SQL plus scripting languages such as Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engagements with engineering, data, and leadership stakeholders to drive end-to-end delivery of products and workflows.
  • Establish reusable platforms, dashboards, and automations that scale across the product portfolio.
  • Own the data model and information architecture that consolidates fragmented NPI inputs into clean, queryable sources of truth.
  • Deliver portfolio-level tooling that surfaces risks earlier and highlights cross-program patterns.
  • Architect and ship LLM-based and agentic workflows for status synthesis, risk surfacing, and action tracking.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for process improvements in new product introduction.

Benefits

  • Employees at Microsoft are often offered comprehensive, “world-class” benefits—including health and mental-wellness programs, competitive pay with bonuses and stock awards, and retirement/savings options. Time-off and flexibility are common, with generous vacation and holidays, parental and caregiver leave, and flexible work schedules, alongside learning support, employee resource groups, product discounts, and matching-gifts/volunteering programs. Specific benefits can vary by region.
