Microsoft is seeking a Principal Sourcing Engineer to join the Strategic Sourcing team within the Microsoft Devices Operation organization. This role focuses on driving the Silicon strategy and performance for Xbox and Surface Hardware. The ideal candidate will engage with cross-functional leadership to optimize supply chain solutions and manage supplier relationships. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a growth mindset to achieve business targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- Doctorate in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
- 6+ years industry experience in consumer electronics in the semiconductor and silicon space.
- Experience in Chipset or Wireless sourcing or sales.
- Experience in negotiating complex contracts and deals.
- Proficient storytelling and influencing skills with a track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Own the supply chain and sourcing activities for Microsoft Devices Chipset including negotiating commercial agreements and optimizing collaboration between teams.
- Engage with cross-functional leadership to determine the best design solution and supply base.
- Manage contracting activities with Legal to ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms and IP protection.
- Build multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition.
- Analyze the overall supply chain to identify risk and drive resolution to systemic issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-times.
- Provide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Manage the supplier relationship and coordinate efforts to drive supplier performance improvement.
