Job description

This role involves working on advanced silicon signoff and physical verification at Microsoft, focusing on driving Physical Verification CAD solutions for silicon design teams. The position requires collaboration with EDA vendors and internal teams to ensure production-ready solutions across multiple silicon programs. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining PV flows, owning the PV methodology, and resolving design issues. Requirements

  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support Physical Verification (PV) flows across all Silicon projects.
  • Own PV methodology, including guidelines, checklists, milestone definitions, and waiver strategies.
  • Partner closely with Physical Design teams to enable early PV runs and debug complex issues.
  • Lead resolution of PV-related flow and design issues, including tool stability and runtime scalability.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with CAD, Technology, and external EDA partners.
  • Support PDK and node enablement activities to ensure PV flows are validated and production-ready.
  • Contribute to PV activities, including training material, documentation, and continuous improvement.
