Job description

Apple is seeking a System Engineering Program Manager for the Watch team, responsible for leading a cross-functional team in developing Watch projects. This role combines technical expertise with program management skills, providing exposure to executives. The manager will oversee product prototype builds and ensure effective communication across teams. The position requires a strong understanding of system integration and the ability to manage risks and issues.

Requirements

  • BS engineering degree is required.
  • 4-8+ years of project management experience is necessary.
  • Experience and familiarity with the consumer electronics industry is essential.
  • Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience working with Contract Manufacturer partners is needed.
  • Detailed knowledge of product development cycles and manufacturing processes is required.
  • Experience in setting up project schedules and work breakdown structures is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and mechanical engineers.
  • Set and communicate clear objectives for the build schedule.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the program with Contract Manufacturer partners.
  • Lead multi-functional engineering team meetings to discuss design scope and set timelines.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Understand the complexities of system integration and collaborate with teams.
  • Facilitate feedback through the internal design review process.
  • Maintain good communication and provide status updates to individual contributors and executive management.
