Job description

As a Network Development Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise networks that support various mission-critical operations. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network infrastructure across global locations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers while participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation. The position requires a strong background in network solutions and automation scripting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
  • 5+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience with AWS and AWS networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to comply with government-imposed requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain complex network solutions in manufacturing and lab environments
  • Ensure robust network operations supporting launch and mission activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues
  • Implement and manage change control processes for network modifications
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and technical documentation
  • Lead capacity planning and performance optimization initiatives
  • Enhance and manage monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection
  • Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support
