Job description
The Camera Image Quality Validation Engineer will be part of the Camera Hardware Engineering group at Apple, focusing on the evaluation and benchmarking of camera products. This role involves collaborating with various teams to drive the development of next-generation camera technology. The engineer will utilize their expertise in image quality metrics and evaluation methodologies to ensure the highest standards in camera performance. The position requires a deep understanding of camera components and the ISP pipeline.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Color Science, or equivalent.
- Experience with Matlab and/or Python programming skills.
- Experience working in an optical lab.
- Experience with bench or tester automation of data acquisition.
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Color Science, or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Deep understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology.
- Experience with deep learning for image segmentation, object recognition, and abnormal detection.
- Familiarity with camera components and functions.
- Experience with camera ISP pipeline and 3A.
- Experience with megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection, and qualification.
- Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ongoing evaluation, benchmarking, and characterization of Apple camera products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and drive camera technology development.
- Utilize image quality metrics to assess camera performance.
- Implement automation for data acquisition in testing environments.
- Analyze and validate camera image quality through objective and subjective methods.
