Job description
This position is within the Battery Engineering group at Apple, focusing on developing innovative battery solutions that enhance energy efficiency. The role involves building high-throughput data systems and providing data-driven insights to product and engineering teams. The individual will contribute to the creation of a battery data warehouse and develop data pipelines from global supply chain sites. This role is crucial for advancing new generations of battery technology and improving customer experiences worldwide.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields
- Experience with Python or a relevant programming language
- Experience building production data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Strong grasp of database fundamentals, including data modeling, schema design, indexing, normalization, ACID, and OLTP vs. OLAP
- Hands-on database development experience including DML, DDL, materialized views, and stored procedures
- Hands-on experience with orchestration and batch/stream processing
- Hands-on experience with data visualization and presentation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or JMP
- Basic understanding of LLMs and MCP server development, including tokenization, embedding, context window, and evals
- Basic understanding of batteries
