Job description
The Xcode team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to enhance and maintain internal tools and CI systems that support Xcode's testing and integration workflows. This role focuses on improving the efficiency and reliability of integration and submission pipelines while boosting developer productivity. The engineer will design, build, and manage critical CI systems, balancing immediate execution needs with long-term infrastructure goals. The position requires strong programming skills and a passion for developing innovative solutions to streamline engineering processes.
Requirements
- Strong object-oriented programming skills, preferably in Python or Swift
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining tools, test infrastructure, or CI systems
- Strong system-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI technologies to improve engineering efficiency and productivity
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience developing and managing large-scale CI environments
- Experience with containerized environments using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes on Linux platforms
- Experience using Git for source control, including branching and code reviews
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy tools, automation, and workflows to improve engineering productivity
- Monitor the health of CI systems and analyze failures to identify root causes
- Collaborate with partner teams to maintain high CI reliability and operational efficiency
- Maintain the operational health of the CI environment through routine maintenance tasks
- Develop innovative solutions to address scalability and execution challenges within CI systems
- Evolve and operate critical CI infrastructure that supports product development workflows
