Job description

The Senior Data Scientist, Strategic Modeling & Simulation at Apple will focus on quantifying the future impact of strategic decisions under uncertainty. This role combines various disciplines such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and quantitative decision science to support leadership in evaluating opportunities and making informed long-term investment decisions. The ideal candidate will work across multiple teams to develop models that connect experimentation learnings with business outcomes. This position is critical as Apple expands its investments in AI-powered experiences and intelligent systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Data Science, or Economics.
  • 5+ years of experience in predictive modeling, simulation, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
  • Experience building predictive models such as retention or lifetime value models.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with modern machine learning ecosystems.
  • PhD in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with simulation systems and probabilistic modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Develop simulation systems and strategic modeling frameworks to estimate long-term impacts of business decisions.
  • Collaborate with teams across experimentation, product, marketing, and finance to create predictive models.
  • Support decision-making under uncertainty through strategic scenario simulations.
  • Communicate quantitative insights to executive audiences effectively.
  • Estimate long-term business impacts and investment ROI using advanced modeling techniques.
