Job description
The Graphics team in Apple's Productivity Apps group is seeking an engineer to enhance visual productivity in the Apple Creator Suite. This role involves creating user experiences across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS. The team focuses on developing new graphics and drawing features for applications like Freeform, Keynote, Numbers, and Pages. The engineer will work on both high-level user interfaces and low-level infrastructure to support these applications.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Swift or Objective-C
- Proficiency in Python or another scripting language
- Skilled with object-oriented design
- Experience with Metal, CoreGraphics, or other 2D graphics environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Past experience building software for macOS
- Experience working in large industrial code bases with large teams
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and marketing teams to develop new interactions and visual capabilities.
- Architect and build new infrastructural components to simplify platform complexity.
- Develop new interactions and visual capabilities that enhance user productivity.
- Utilize documentation, IDEs, and debugging tools to navigate the large code base.
- Write clear and maintainable code while addressing existing bugs and architectural improvements.
- Keep user needs in mind to ensure a delightful experience.
