Job description

The Senior Software Engineer in Data Center Construction/Operations at Google is responsible for developing next-generation technologies that enhance how users connect and interact with information. This role is part of the AI and Infrastructure team, which focuses on delivering AI and infrastructure solutions at scale and efficiency. Engineers in this position will work on critical projects, contributing to the development of cutting-edge AI models and computing power. The role requires versatility and leadership qualities as engineers tackle various challenges across the full stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with full stack development, including back-end languages such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++, and front-end technologies like JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide among available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues.
