Job description

The Senior Hardware Systems Design Engineer will be part of a team that develops custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. This role focuses on hardware systems projects related to ML/AI, ensuring that product goals are met through effective system design. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including ASIC, FPGA, and manufacturing, to support the deployment of systems in data centers. This position offers the opportunity to influence the design of hardware that powers Google's extensive computing infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a hardware design technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise-class hardware systems design and data center engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Gather system requirements, define architecture, execute hardware design, and validate products.
  • Lead the bring up, validation, NPI, deployment, and sustaining of hardware solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Thermal, Validation, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
  • Drive system development from concept through production.
  • Lead debug and root cause analysis of deployed systems.
