Job description
The Staff Audio Systems Engineer at Google will be part of a team focused on developing innovative wearable audio systems that enhance user experiences. This role requires collaboration with various teams, including Product, Acoustic, Algorithm, and Software, to deliver high-quality audio solutions. The engineer will leverage their expertise in audio system design and testing to contribute to the roadmap of wearable audio technologies. This position is essential for pushing the boundaries of audio technology within Google's product offerings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in consumer hardware.
- Experience with standard audio measurement and analysis tools, such as ACQUA, SoundCheck, Audio Precision, Audition, and Matlab/Python.
- Experience in audio system design, tuning, and validation, including acoustics, microphones, and digital signal processing.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Acoustic, Algorithm, and Software teams to define and develop wearable audio systems.
- Exert expertise in objective and subjective testing, developing tools and tuning strategies for wearable audio solutions.
- Liaise with external vendors to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Contribute to the wearable audio roadmap definition by investigating new technologies and developing audio Key Performance Indicators based on product definitions.
