Job description

As a Semiconductor Supplier Quality Engineer at Google, you will be part of a team focused on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's products. Your role will involve collaborating with suppliers, hardware designers, and manufacturing engineers to ensure semiconductor component quality and reliability. You will manage supplier factory certifications and lead component qualifications while driving continuous improvements. This position requires a strong technical background in semiconductor manufacturing processes and a commitment to enhancing product quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience as a quality, reliability, or product engineer.
  • 8 years of experience in semiconductor ICs manufacturing processes including wafer fab, assembly, and test.
  • Ability to travel as needed, approximately 15%-20%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives during NPI phases to ensure the technical and operational readiness of the semiconductor supply chain for mass production.
  • Partner with Design, Manufacturing, and Commodity teams as the subject matter expert on qualifying and scaling semiconductor technologies.
  • Drive the resolution of critical fleet and factory issues, leading suppliers through robust Root Cause and Corrective Action processes.
  • Own the end-to-end supplier quality and reliability for semiconductor components from NPI through end-of-life.
