Job description

The Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater role at Jacobs involves working within the Northeast Water group in Wethersfield, Connecticut. This position focuses on delivering innovative solutions for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. The engineer will support senior engineers and project managers in the planning and design of municipal water projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • Passed the FE exam.
  • At least 3 years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients.
  • Experience in serving various clients involving drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes and technologies.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.
  • Participate in planning, cost development, and management for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.
  • Complete civil design calculations, sketches, and technical comparisons as required by each assignment.
  • Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.
