Job description

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Rail) to join their Transportation team in Bellevue, WA for Summer 2026. This role involves working on various engineering tasks related to transit and rail projects, providing innovative solutions to clients' challenges. Interns will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and gain practical experience under the guidance of professional engineers. The position focuses on the design and execution of railway infrastructure projects, including rail stations and transportation structures.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed at least two years of engineering coursework at an ABET accredited institution
  • Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of railway infrastructure, including track geometry and guideway design
  • Use specialized rail engineering software and CAD tools for design tasks
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Learn and apply relevant railway and transitway standards, regulations, and safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Group Leader and other team members
