This role is a hands-on technical leadership position focused on building 'Citi Assist', a Generative AI assistant for Citi employees. The team operates within Developer Enablement and is responsible for the entire development process from idea to production. The ideal candidate will lead by example, writing high-quality code while mentoring other engineers. • Proven experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
• Deep, hands-on experience building and running production-grade services.
• Comfortable across multiple programming languages and paradigms, including Python, Java, Go, and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed systems.
• Solid grasp of software design patterns and commitment to clean, testable, maintainable code.
• Experience with containerized environments, preferably OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres.

• Write code and lead as the technical anchor for backend services.
• Own core platform capabilities such as background jobs and autonomous agents.
• Shape the architecture and technical roadmap in collaboration with the product owner.
• Stay updated on developments in Generative AI and apply new ideas to products.
