The role involves building and delivering a Generative AI assistant, 'Citi Assist', for Citi employees. As a VP-level engineer, you will take ownership of features and workstreams, collaborating closely with lead engineers. The team operates within Developer Enablement and emphasizes engineering craftsmanship while navigating legacy systems. You will be responsible for writing high-quality code, working across the stack, and ensuring safety and compliance in AI systems.
Requirements
- Solid experience building and shipping production applications.
- Proficiency in at least two backend or full-stack languages such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java.
- Experience building user-facing features with modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Experience building reliable backend services and APIs.
- Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres.
- Comfort with containerised environments, preferably OpenShift or Kubernetes.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver across the stack by writing high-quality, tested code.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for features and workstreams.
- Work with data to build pipelines, dashboards, and tooling.
- Stay updated with developments in Generative AI and apply new ideas.
- Help the team improve through code reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
- Ensure safety, security, and compliance are prioritized in AI systems.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with team members across time zones.
