Job description

The Lead Data Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in setting the technical vision for a next-generation data platform and mentoring the engineering team. This senior-level leadership position focuses on guiding critical data initiatives using technologies such as Kafka, MongoDB, and Couchbase. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in real-time data and modern architecture, driving the strategic vision and ensuring best practices are established. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical skills and leadership capabilities to foster a high-performing data engineering culture.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in application development and systems analysis.
  • Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to define and integrate system enhancements for the data platform.
  • Design and deliver complex data systems while evaluating business processes and system architecture.
  • Ensure every design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint for the data platform.
  • Establish best practices for coding, testing, and implementation of data services.
  • Mentor mid-level developers and analysts, guiding their work and fostering their growth.
  • Provide in-depth analysis to define complex data challenges and develop innovative solutions.
