Job description

The Senior Vice President, Software Engineering Manager will lead the AI Platform Development team at Blackstone, focusing on the strategy, development, and delivery of AI solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and ensure the successful execution of projects. The manager will also mentor junior engineers and establish engineering standards to enhance platform capabilities. The position is critical for maintaining Blackstone's competitive edge in technology and innovation.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience with strong command of Python, C#, and Typescript.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role managing and mentoring teams of software engineers.
  • Strong technical background in cloud native architectures, distributed systems, and shared services.
  • Deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, and best practices.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the AI Platform development team, delivering shared AI/ML services, infrastructure, and tooling.
  • Partner with the Lead Architect to define and execute the vision for the AI Platform.
  • Deliver standardized, self-service platform capabilities aligned with security, risk, and compliance expectations.
  • Contribute to the Platform Architecture function by defining reference architectures, standards, and guardrails.
  • Establish engineering standards for reliability, resilience, observability, and controlled change.
