Job description

The Ads Platform Engineering team at Netflix is focused on building innovative advertising systems that enhance the viewer experience while maximizing revenue for the company. This new team is tasked with creating real-time inventory forecasting solutions and managing publisher inventory to optimize monetization strategies. They are looking for motivated engineers who are excited to work in the advertising space and contribute to the development of high-performance ad systems. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to deploy machine learning models at scale.

Requirements

  • Experience in building end-to-end ML model deployment and inference infrastructure for low-latency real-time ad systems.
  • Experience in handling data at extremely large volumes with big data tools like Spark.
  • Productionized predictive models to forecast the effectiveness of advertising campaigns, including metrics like impressions, reach, clicks, conversions, and ROI.
  • Building scalable simulation solutions to model different inventory scenarios, including demand fluctuations, pricing strategies, and inventory allocation.
  • General understanding of the advertising marketplace and landscape, focusing on publisher side challenges like optimizing fill rates and maximizing revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from science team, product, engineering, operations, design, and consumer research.
  • Productionize and deploy models at scale to enhance advertising effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain systems for real-time inventory management and forecasting.
  • Develop solutions that ensure brand safety and appropriate ad delivery to members.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of differentiating Netflix in the Connected TV advertising space.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
