·FY 2025Job description
The role is for a software technical lead within Netflix's Open Connect team, which manages a critical content delivery network for streaming video. The focus is on evolving the automated CI/CD and validation infrastructure for edge appliances, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and performant. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the business while working with a talented team of engineers. The ideal candidate will lead efforts in automation and testing across various software and hardware components.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including ownership of CI/CD systems and architecting large scale test automation.
- Strong coding ability in Python, Rust, and/or Go, with comfort writing shell scripts.
- Deep hands-on experience with Linux and/or FreeBSD in systems contexts.
- Strong ability to design, build, and operate cloud services that support CI/CD and test automation.
- Experience designing automated test frameworks for reliability and performance.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership across teams.
- Experience with modern CI systems and build and release pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Own and build scalable testing infrastructure and end-to-end automated validation for edge appliances.
- Improve failure triage with AI-assisted tooling to reduce time-to-detection and time-to-resolution.
- Lead and mentor engineers in building and maintaining test automation and release qualification.
- Partner with OS, security, hardware, and application teams to ensure validation keeps pace with rapid product development.
- Debug complex regressions across hardware/firmware/OS boundaries.
- Build dashboards and alerting for regression detection, performance drift, and release readiness.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
