Job description

The Senior System Engineer role at Fidelity focuses on supporting the Fidelity Record Keeping system within a mainframe environment. The position requires a deep understanding of the Defined Contribution domain and involves both production and non-production support tasks. Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in Mainframe development, enhancement, or support.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Production support experience with financial systems.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, Assembler 370, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coding, testing, and implementing COBOL and Assembler 370 solutions.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn complex processes quickly and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Address business incidents related to the Fidelity Record Keeping system.
  • Perform production and non-production support work.
  • Research and resolve issues related to application abends and infrastructure changes.
  • Collaborate with client relationship managers and product teams to address reported incidents.
  • Support batch cycles and online environments for the Fidelity Record Keeping application.
  • Triage incidents and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain and enhance systems in the MVS mainframe environment.
