Job description
The Principal Software Engineer will play a key role in Scrum teams within Fidelity's Digital Platforms Technology, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experience solutions. This role involves collaborating with various team members, including Squad Leads and Architects, to craft and deliver features for web applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full stack software engineering, particularly in financial services applications. The team is dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing modern technologies to enhance user experiences.
Requirements
- 8 plus years of full stack software engineering experience, preferably in financial services applications.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical needs to non-technical team members.
- Proven leadership skills in mentoring junior developers.
- Experience with Agile software development methodology.
- Extensive knowledge of modern application architecture patterns and emerging technologies.
- Detailed experience with modern MV*/SPA JavaScript frameworks, preferably Angular.
- Hands-on experience with API Design and Development and Microservices Architecture.
- Proficiency in server-side languages and frameworks such as Java EE and Spring Boot.
- Client-side proficiency in Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and testing frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Scrum teams to deliver outstanding customer experience solutions.
- Work closely with the Squad Lead, Scrum Master, Developers, and Architects.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior developers.
- Decompose complex business problems into efficient and scalable solutions.
- Develop, deploy, and support key applications and features.
- Ensure alignment with standard methodologies regarding object-oriented design and secure application development.
