Job description

The Principal Quant Engineer will join the Quantitative Research & Investments Technology team at Fidelity Asset Management Technology. This role focuses on designing, building, enhancing, and supporting a Systematic Fixed Income research and portfolio construction ecosystem. The individual will engage in hands-on development while collaborating with software engineers and quantitative developers. The position requires strong communication skills to influence decisions and engage with various stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a computational field such as Computer Science, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in financial services, preferably in Asset Management.
  • Proven experience engaging with senior internal and external clients and partners.
  • Experience with Python and micro-services / RESTful APIs.
  • Experience integrating data services with Excel or other UI like Angular is a plus.
  • Prior quant development experience with Fixed Income asset class is a plus.
  • Experience working on AWS cloud environment and knowledge of CI/CD & DevOps.
  • Strong experience in system architecture, design patterns, and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Advanced understanding of data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio construction and/or optimization is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with quant research and investments teams to design and build a comprehensive research ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers and quantitative developers for hands-on development.
  • Capture requirements and formulate plans by partnering with various stakeholders.
  • Support the enhancement and maintenance of the portfolio construction ecosystem.
  • Engage with senior clients and partners to influence decisions.
