Job description

The Security Analytics Engineer at Netflix will join a team focused on enhancing consumer product security through data analysis and insights. This role involves driving security metrics and developing data solutions to detect and prevent fraud, including account compromise and piracy. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to strengthen security measures and improve product experiences. The position requires a passion for protecting customers and products while leveraging analytics expertise.

Requirements

  • Expertise in analytics tools such as SQL, Presto, sparkSql, and Python.
  • Experience in signal development for classification and anomaly detection.
  • Familiarity with various aspects of fraud and abuse types, including account compromise, piracy, or DDoS.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive insights and discovery of fraud by analyzing infrastructure and product.
  • Develop data-driven insights to influence device and product security strategy.
  • Compile and track anomalous request patterns and identify potential mitigations.
  • Design and champion data-driven security enhancements for devices.
  • Analyze error logs to quantify potential device-level vulnerabilities.
  • Build insights into security and identity of Netflix's device ecosystem and develop dashboards for stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
