·FY 2025Job description
Netflix is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join the Cloud Architecture, Tooling and Security (CATS) team. This role focuses on securely enabling new business verticals and integrating acquisitions while addressing Identity and Access Management challenges in AWS and GCP. The engineer will collaborate with software engineering teams to design and implement scalable cloud security solutions. The position requires a blend of security expertise and the ability to build tooling and perform data analysis.
Requirements
- A broad and deep understanding of cloud security fundamentals, particularly in CloudSec operations and AWS account management.
- Expertise in GCP, specifically in architecting and implementing organization-wide security guardrails.
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to design security solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex technical issues cross-functionally.
- A pragmatic approach to security, engaging transparently with security risk nuances.
- Proven ability to identify high-leverage work and drive it independently without explicit direction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to understand business needs and design appropriate cloud security solutions.
- Design and implement secure cloud access patterns and security boundaries.
- Develop internal tooling and scripting for GCP to enhance capabilities.
- Perform threat assessments and apply knowledge of AWS architecture to address security requests.
- Contribute to operational excellence by reducing risks and streamlining access management processes.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
