Job description

The L5 Security Engineer specializing in Endpoint Security at Netflix will be integral in identifying and managing risks across all software on Netflix endpoints. This role is part of the Workforce Security team, which focuses on implementing secure user access and endpoint security while enabling business agility. The engineer will design and validate protective endpoint security controls and develop solutions for host hardening and vulnerability management. Strong communication skills are essential for translating technical risks into business risks for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of commercially available endpoint MDM solutions such as Jamf, Kandji, or Intune.
  • Working experience with commercially available endpoint vulnerability scanning tools such as CrowdStrike or Tenable.
  • Experience designing and testing host hardening configuration for at least two of the major operating systems (Mac, Windows, Linux).
  • Understanding of Vulnerability Management practices.
  • Threat Modeling competency to influence control right-sizing and other prioritization efforts.
  • Ability to validate publicly disclosed exploits and perform variant analysis.
  • Scripting skills sufficient for automation tasks.
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High-level familiarity with corporate security tooling in endpoint, identity, data, and vendor security.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and decompose strategic goals into actionable project plans.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage risks across all software on Netflix endpoints.
  • Design, implement, and validate protective endpoint security controls.
  • Develop and roll out solutions for host hardening and vulnerability management.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive Patch and Vulnerability Management Strategy.
  • Apply Threat Intelligence to prioritize the remediation of endpoint vulnerabilities.
  • Evaluate build vs. buy security capabilities through requirement gathering and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Provide standard business-hours operational support for Workforce Security.
  • Participate in infrequent 24/7 Incident Response as needed.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
